What do I need before starting or booking driving lessons?

Please obtain a learners licence and your lessons can begin; you cannot start driving lessons before passing your theory test.

How many driving lessons will I need?

This really depends on experience and practice - please contact me to discuss your needs.

When can I have my lessons?

Top Drive operates from Monday to Saturday.

Can I take driving lessons in my own car?

Absolutely, as long as it is insured, has a valid WOF and is registered.

Can I take my driving test in a vehicle ﬁtted with an automatic gearbox?

Yes you can, but you will need a supervisor if you want to drive a manual vehicle until a full licence is obtained.

Where can I ﬁnd more detailed information on the driving tests and driving licence categories?

Please refer to the NZ Transport Agency's website.

Do you provide instructor training?

This is not a service offered.

Can I do an intense course in one week?

Yes, I am very happy to meet an individual’s needs.

Do you charge for cancellations?

No, as long as at least 24 hours notice is provided for cancellations.

Do you have automatic cars?

Yes I have an automatic vehicle.

What areas do you cover?

Napier, Hastings and Havelock North.

What will I do on my ﬁrst driving lesson?

This really depends on your level of experience; all levels are welcome as lessons will be suited to the individual needs.

What if I fail my test?

We can reassess if it comes to that.Yes I do mock test assessments before sitting either restricted or full licence.

Do you do mock tests?

I teach and assess to test standard.
